Performance

Modern performance cruising yachts shine through elegance and excellent sailing characteristics. However, these characteristics become available only if the cordage used also lives up to the high demands. For, only then will it be possible to ensure good yacht speeds and great ease of handling. A typical 50 ft. performance cruising yacht needs 11 ropes having diameters from 8 to 14 mm and lengths between 5 and 50 m.

The cordage for a typical C/R yacht must permit relaxed cruising, while also catering to sportive, competition-like regatta conditions. Admiral 5000 and Globe 5000 MK3 from Robline were developed with the specific needs of this target group in mind.

Another attribute this cordage should bring to the table is great ease of splicing. Today, even performance-oriented sailors of a cruiser/racer or racer/cruiser expect to be able to customize their lines to the relevant type of sailing by making tapers and end splices.
